Dr. Swiderek performs outpatient joint replacement surgery at the Indian Lake Surgery Center, a facility designed, built, and equipped specifically for the thousands of surgeries that have been performed there. Dr. Swiderek has also helped to advance the “Southern Approach” surgical technique even further. He has become one of the most experienced “Southern Approach” surgeons in the country.
Among the top students in his class, Dr. Swiderek graduated Summa Cumlaude from medical school at UNM. He was also elected to the prestigious AOA Medical Honor Society. After advanced orthopedic surgical training and 5 years at Vanderbilt, he went on to complete an orthopedic surgical subspecialty fellowship at the University of Texas in complex hip and knee reconstruction surgery.
Dr. Swiderek is both Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, as well as a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
Dr. Swiderek is also an accomplished athlete, avid hunter, outdoorsman, and skilled woodworker. He is a lecturer and contributing author to textbooks on orthopedic surgery and orthopedic research, and a principal instructor in several orthopedic technique teaching videos for surgeons.
He is completely devoted to his wife, Madi, his college sweetheart. She is a registered nurse with extensive ICU experience who keeps him grounded and doesn’t hesitate to remind him that she knew him “long before he was a big-shot surgeon.
